We are hiring a Material Handler in Seattle, Washington to support our growing logistics operations! As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility. Your duties will include loading and unloading shipments, operating material handling equipment, and ensuring materials are properly stored and staged for distribution. This role is vital for maintaining operational efficiency and requires a strong focus on safety, including the diligent use of PPE. Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and other transport vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Transport raw materials, finished goods, and other materials throughout the warehouse.
- Stack, arrange, and store materials in designated locations, ensuring proper organization.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as needed.
- Perform regular inspections of material handling equipment and report any issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to logistics and safety, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse functions as directed to support overall operations.
- Ensure that all materials are handled in a way that minimizes damage and maintains quality.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in operating various types of material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations and logistics.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and work ethic.
