We are looking for an organized and detail-oriented Picker/Packer to join our team in Durham, North Carolina. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately picking items from inventory and preparing them for shipment. Your duties will include reading order slips, locating products within the warehouse, carefully packaging items to ensure they arrive safely, and affixing shipping labels. This position is vital to our logistics process, ensuring that our customers receive their orders correctly and on time. We emphasize efficiency, accuracy, and a commitment to a safe working environment. You will work within a team to meet daily order fulfillment targets. Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick products from warehouse shelves based on order tickets.
- Verify picked items against order details to ensure accuracy.
- Package items securely and appropriately for shipment, protecting them from damage.
- Apply shipping labels and documentation to packages.
- Maintain a clean and organized packing station and work area.
- Contribute to meeting daily picking and packing quotas.
- Follow all safety procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory checks and cycle counts as needed.
- Operate basic warehouse equipment like hand trucks or box cutters safely.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding any order discrepancies or issues.
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a picker or packer is preferred but not required.
- Ability to read and understand order forms and product labels.
- Comfortable with manual tasks involving lifting and carrying items.
- Attention to detail is critical for accuracy.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Must be able to stand for long periods and walk throughout the warehouse.
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds regularly.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US.
Physical Demands:
This role requires standing, walking, bending, and reaching for extended periods. Employees must be capable of lifting, carrying, and moving items weighing up to 40 pounds. Proper use of PPE is mandatory for safety.
