We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all outgoing shipments. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, verifying order details against packed items, coordinating with carriers, and maintaining organized shipping records. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to safety and efficiency. You will be expected to utilize various shipping software and equipment, ensuring all packages are correctly labeled and dispatched. Attention to detail is paramount to minimize errors and ensure customer satisfaction. This position requires the ability to work collaboratively with other warehouse staff and management. You will also be responsible for conducting quality checks on outgoing goods before they leave the facility. Experience with inventory management systems is a plus. The role involves consistent communication with internal teams and external vendors to streamline the shipping process. We prioritize a safe working environment and adherence to all company policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Some lifting may be required as part of daily tasks. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow within the logistics industry.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process all outgoing shipment documentation accurately.
- Verify order contents against shipping manifests and packing lists.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date shipping records.
- Operate shipping equipment and software efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external partners.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing shipments.
- Assist with inventory management as needed.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Previous experience in shipping, logistics, or a related warehouse role is preferred. Familiarity with shipping software and carrier portals. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Excellent attention to detail. Understanding of safety protocols and the importance of PPE. Basic computer skills.
