We are looking for a dependable Warehouse Worker to join our logistics team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is integral to our supply chain operations, focusing on the efficient handling of goods from receipt to dispatch. Your responsibilities will include receiving and processing inbound freight, storing items, picking and packing orders, and preparing shipments. We value individuals who are hardworking, safety-conscious, and capable of performing the physical demands of the job. A key aspect of this role involves consistent physical activity, including frequent lifting and moving of products. Strict adherence to safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is required.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments accurately.
- Inspect goods for damages or discrepancies and report them immediately.
- Organize and store inventory in designated warehouse locations.
- Pick items for orders using pick lists or scanners, ensuring accuracy.
- Pack products safely and efficiently for shipment.
- Stage completed orders for carrier pickup.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment by tidying work areas and adhering to all safety guidelines.
- Operate manual warehouse equipment (e.g., pallet jacks).
- Follow all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety.
- Wear and utilize all required PPE correctly.
- Assist with inventory control tasks, such as cycle counts.
- Support other warehouse functions as needed to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
- Previous warehouse or general labor experience is an advantage.
- Must be physically capable of performing frequent lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Team-oriented attitude and good communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and understanding of PPE.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse logistics is helpful.
