We are seeking a motivated and reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the efficient movement of materials throughout our warehouse. Your duties will include receiving, identifying, stocking, picking, and preparing materials for shipment. This position requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment. You will work closely with other warehouse staff and logistics professionals to ensure smooth and timely order fulfillment. Attention to detail is paramount to ensure accuracy in all material handling processes. The ideal candidate will possess excellent physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks involving significant lifting.
Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming materials against purchase orders.
- Inspect materials for damage and report any discrepancies.
- Stock materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper rotation and organization.
- Pick and prepare orders for shipment, accurately identifying items and quantities.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts (certification may be required or provided).
- Load trucks for outgoing shipments, ensuring secure and efficient packing.
- Maintain a clean and orderly warehouse, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Participate in inventory counts and audits as needed.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, with a strong emphasis on safety protocols.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is a plus.
- Ability to perform frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems is beneficial.
- Strong understanding of safety procedures and best practices in a warehouse setting.
- Excellent physical condition and stamina for demanding tasks.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours if needed.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE is mandatory.
