We are looking for a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. This critical role ensures the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, which is fundamental to our supply chain operations. You will be responsible for monitoring stock levels, conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing procedures to maintain optimal inventory accuracy. Responsibilities:
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate inventory records within the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and identify potential overstock or stock-out situations.
- Implement and improve inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and recommend solutions.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff and management to achieve inventory goals.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including the proper use of PPE and safe lifting techniques.
- Support the logistics team by providing accurate inventory information.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
