Location: Manchester, England (Hybrid)
Senior Mobile Backend Developer (Java / Kotlin, AWS, Microservices) Contract We are hiring a Senior Mobile Backend Developer to work on high‑scale, cloud‑native platforms supporting mobile applications in a regulated environment. This is a hands‑on backend role focused on Java/Kotlin microservices, secure API design, and cloud delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Design and build scalable backend services using Java or Kotlin and Spring Boot
Develop secure, mobile‑facing APIs using OAuth 2.0 and modern authentication patterns
Work with microservices and event‑driven architectures
Deploy and support services in AWS/cloud environments
Apply TDD/BDD and automation testing to deliver high‑quality code
Collaborate with engineers, technical leads, and stakeholders across delivery teams
Mentor peers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Required Skills & Experience
Strong backend development experience with Java and/or Kotlin
Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices architecture
Secure API design, OAuth, authentication/authorization
AWS or cloud platform experience
Event‑driven systems and distributed architectures
Experience working in financial services or regulated environments
Strong problem‑solving and communication skills
