The Surgical Technologist provides technical support in operating rooms, including maintaining sterile technique and assisting in patient care under the supervision of registered nurses. This role requires certification in surgical technology and the ability to perform in high-demand medical environments such as labor and delivery. The technologist collaborates closely with the healthcare team to ensure patient safety and quality care during surgical procedures.

Scrubs in OB procedures and assists in nursing care activities under the direction of a registered nurse. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. - 1. Performs the duties of a scrub person.
- 1.1 Performs technical skills proficiently during procedures while demonstrating knowledge of sterile technique by adhering to principles of asepsis 100% of the time.
- 2. Performs selected patient care activities in Labor & Delivery under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- 2.1 Identifies changes in patients' condition and communicates significant observations to the RN as evidenced by report.
- 3. Demonstrates accountability and responsibility in daily performance of role.
- 3.1 Assumes responsibility for delegated activities 100% of the time as observed by supervisor.
