How you will make an impact in this role? We are looking for a highly motivated, independent, and skilled engineer to architect, design, and build the Android travel mobile app for our Travel & Lifestyle Services (TLS) business.
Software Development
Set up the infrastructure and development environments
Write and deliver high‑quality code
Lead reviews of colleague’s work
Build monitoring dashboards and logging & alerting strategies
Monitor system performance and availability, and improve software quality through root‑cause analysis
Deep understanding of infrastructure technologies and components
Deep understanding of core tools used in planning, analysing, crafting, building, testing, configuring, and maintaining assigned applications
Leadership
Prepare and present solutions and progress updates to product and technology leadership
Collaborate and communicate effectively across engineering and enterprise teams
Mentor and coach junior team members
Influence team members with creative changes and improvements by challenging status quo and demonstrating risk taking
Demonstrate increased self‑reliance to achieve team goals
Relevant experience and skills
Writing & deleting code
Build tools such as Gradle, GitHub Actions, and Circle CI
Finding and fixing bugs
Performance analysis and optimisation
Dealing with legacy code
Unit & integration tests
Working in a globally distributed team
Self‑starting and good at time management
Integrating with bespoke backend services
Designing solutions for open‑ended problems
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
Relevant technologies you may encounter on our team
