*Location:* Onsite across multiple Long Island hospital and ambulatory locations
*Travel:* Required across regional sites
*Overview*
We are seeking a seasoned *Senior Project Manager in the IT PMO office* to oversee a *portfolio of healthcare IT infrastructure and construction projects* across hospitals, ambulatory centers, and specialty clinical expansions. This role requires deep experience coordinating *low-voltage systems, structured cabling, IDF/MDF builds, clinical technology infrastructure, and A/V systems* in active healthcare environments.
A critical component of this role is a *strong understanding of clinical application deployment and integration from an infrastructure perspective*, ensuring that network, connectivity, device readiness, and physical infrastructure fully support applications such as *Epic and other clinical systems* during go-lives and phased activations.
The ideal candidate operates as a *Hands On Senior Project Manager level*, providing leadership across multiple concurrent projects and project managers, serving as the primary liaison between *hospital stakeholders, IT leadership, vendors, clinical teams, and construction partners*, while maintaining strict regulatory compliance.
*Key Responsibilities:*
*Healthcare Infrastructure & Clinical Technology Enablement*
* Oversee a *portfolio of healthcare infrastructure projects* spanning hospitals, ambulatory facilities, and specialty clinical expansions.
* Direct cross-functional coordination of *low-voltage design, structured cabling, IDF/MDF rooms, network buildouts, clinical device connectivity, and A/V systems* across multiple sites.
* Ensure infrastructure readiness to support *clinical application deployments*, including network capacity, redundancy, device connectivity, wireless coverage, and physical space requirements.
*Clinical Application Deployment – Infrastructure Perspective*
* Partner with *Clinical Applications, Epic, Clinical Engineering, Networking, and Security teams* to ensure infrastructure dependencies for clinical applications are identified, planned, and delivered.
* Coordinate infrastructure activities that enable *clinical system deployments, integrations, upgrades, and go-lives*, without owning application configuration.
* Validate that network performance, cabling, endpoint readiness, device connectivity, and failover designs meet clinical application requirements.
* Support *phased activations, cutovers, and go-live events* by ensuring infrastructure stability and issue resolution in coordination with application teams.
*Project Management*
* Manage *interdependent project schedules*, resource allocation, and risk mitigation across multiple concurrent initiatives.
* Develop and maintain *dashboards, Gantt charts, executive-level reporting, and readiness metrics* for leadership review.
* Lead planning, procurement coordination, system testing support, deployment sequencing, activation, and transition to operations.
* Proactively identify risks related to *infrastructure–application dependencies* and drive mitigation strategies.
*Stakeholder & Cross-Functional Coordination*
* Serve as the *primary liaison* between hospital leadership, IT departments, clinical stakeholders, vendors, and construction teams.
* Collaborate closely with internal IT groups including *Networking, Information Security, Clinical Engineering, VoIP, and Epic/Application teams* to ensure integrated readiness.
* Represent *IT PMO* programs in *construction meetings, IT leadership reviews, clinical readiness sessions, and executive steering committees*.
*Vendor, Budget & Procurement Oversight*
* Provide high-level guidance on *procurement strategy, vendor coordination, and budget forecasting*.
* Oversee vendor performance, equipment delivery schedules, installation readiness, and compliance with hospital and IT standards.
* Ensure timely availability of infrastructure components supporting clinical systems, including network hardware, endpoints, and supporting technologies.
*Governance, Documentation & Quality*
* Lead and enforce *governance, documentation, and communication standards* across all project teams.
* Maintain accurate documentation including *clinical readiness checklists, infrastructure dependency tracking, cutover plans, testing results, as-builts, and close-out packages*.
* Drive consistent quality, repeatable processes, and performance standards throughout the program lifecycle.
*Regulatory & Compliance Alignment*
* Ensure infrastructure and clinical technology deployments align with *HIPAA, Joint Commission, infection control, and internal healthcare regulatory standards*.
* Maintain compliance throughout planning, installation, activation, and operational handoff.
*Leadership & Mentorship*
* Provide oversight, direction, and mentorship to *project managers and technical resources* supporting the program.
* Continuously evaluate and improve delivery models, workflows, and tools to strengthen *infrastructure-to-clinical integration*.
*Qualifications*
* Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
* *7–10+ years* of progressive experience in *healthcare IT infrastructure, hospital construction, or clinical technology delivery*.
* Demonstrated understanding of *clinical application deployments from an infrastructure standpoint* (networking, connectivity, device readiness, physical infrastructure).
* Strong hands-on knowledge of *structured cabling, IDF/MDF buildouts, network infrastructure, wireless systems, and low-voltage design*.
* Proven experience managing *enterprise, multi-site project portfolios* with complex clinical and IT dependencies.
* Proficiency with *MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio*, and project portfolio/dashboarding tools.
* *PMP certification strongly preferred*.
