We are hiring a diligent Receiving Clerk for our Virginia Beach, Virginia warehouse. This key role ensures that all inbound shipments are processed accurately, efficiently, and safely, forming the backbone of our inventory management. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess a strong commitment to maintaining operational integrity. You will be responsible for verifying deliveries, identifying discrepancies, and entering data into our system, playing a crucial part in our overall logistics chain. A focus on accuracy and adherence to safety protocols is essential for this position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accept and unload incoming shipments from vendors and carriers.
- Accurately verify received goods against purchase orders, invoices, and packing lists.
- Inspect products for damage, defects, or shortages and document any issues.
- Enter receiving data into the Warehouse Management System (WMS) promptly and accurately.
- Label and stage received inventory for distribution or put-away.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving dock area.
- Operate material handling equipment (e.g., pallet jacks) safely.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations and procedures.
- Ensure proper use of required PPE at all times.
- Assist with inventory control activities and other warehouse tasks as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Previous experience in receiving, warehouse, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in data entry and basic computer applications.
- Familiarity with WMS is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform physical duties, including standing, walking, and moderate Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
- Understanding of warehouse operations and logistics best practices.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dedication to workplace safety and proper use of PPE .
