We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Specialist to join our dynamic logistics team in Chicago, Illinois. This role is crucial for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory, ensuring efficient operations and customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to safety and process improvement. You will be responsible for conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, managing inventory adjustments, and collaborating with various departments to resolve stock issues. Your expertise will directly impact our supply chain efficiency and operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies between the system and physical stock.
- Process inventory adjustments accurately and in a timely manner.
- Maintain inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Monitor stock levels and report any potential shortages or overages.
- Assist in the implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Train and guide other warehouse staff on inventory management principles.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.
- Operate material handling equipment as needed, following all safety protocols.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency in WMS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be comfortable with Lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics is a plus.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment, including proper use of PPE .
