We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler for our Washington, D.C. facility. In this role, you will be instrumental in the smooth flow of goods within our warehouse. Your responsibilities will include operating material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring inventory is accurately stored and retrieved. This position demands a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety. You will work closely with the logistics team to manage the movement of materials efficiently. We pride ourselves on maintaining a safe and productive work environment, and adherence to all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), is non-negotiable. The ideal candidate will have experience with various types of material handling equipment and a solid understanding of warehouse operations. You should be physically fit, capable of lifting heavy objects, and able to work in a fast-paced setting. - Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Load and unload shipments from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas within the warehouse.
- Assist with inventory counts and record-keeping.
- Ensure proper organization and storage of materials.
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including correct lifting techniques.
- Maintain equipment and report any issues promptly.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating material handling equipment (forklift certification preferred).
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety practices.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical stamina.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
- Adherence to all PPE requirements.
