We have an immediate opening for a Material Handler in Detroit, Michigan! Join a leading logistics provider where you will be responsible for the efficient movement and organization of materials within our warehouse. Your duties will include receiving goods, stocking shelves, picking orders, and preparing items for shipment. This role is vital to maintaining smooth operations and inventory accuracy. You will be operating various pieces of equipment and must adhere to all safety regulations, including the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). - Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Transport materials to and from designated areas efficiently.
- Pick, pack, and stage orders for outgoing shipment.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory counts and records.
- Keep the warehouse clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including use of PPE.
- Perform other warehouse tasks as assigned.
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proficiency in operating material handling equipment; certification is a plus.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures and logistics.
- Ability to handle frequent lifting of up to 60 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to a safe working environment.
- Willingness to wear appropriate PPE.
