We are seeking a meticulous and organized Shipping Clerk to join our dynamic logistics team in Omaha, Nebraska. As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accurate and timely dispatch of all outgoing shipments. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping labels, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipping manifests, and maintaining organized shipping records. This position requires a keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of shipping procedures. You will work closely with warehouse staff and external partners to streamline the shipping process, ensuring customer satisfaction through efficient and reliable delivery. This role is essential to our overall supply chain operations and requires a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and professionalism. The ideal candidate will be proactive, able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and possess excellent communication skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Generate and apply shipping labels accurately.
- Schedule and coordinate pickups with various shipping carriers.
- Verify the contents of outgoing shipments against order documentation.
- Maintain detailed records of all shipments, including tracking information.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external customers regarding shipment status.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
- Assist with inventory counts as needed to maintain accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any shipping-related issues promptly.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety in all work activities, utilizing required PPE.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of logistics and safety procedures.
- Adhere to proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a shipping or logistics role preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, with proper lifting techniques.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Familiarity with different shipping carriers and methods.
