We are hiring skilled Forklift Operators for our busy warehouse operations in Chicago, Illinois! As a Forklift Operator, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout our facility. This includes loading and unloading trucks, moving inventory to and from storage areas, and assisting with order fulfillment. Your role is crucial to maintaining the flow of our logistics operations. Safety is our highest priority, and all operators must strictly adhere to company safety policies and wear appropriate PPE at all times. This position requires precision, efficiency, and a strong commitment to a secure work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, and others as needed) to transport materials within the warehouse.
- Safely load and unload incoming and outgoing freight.
- Stack and retrieve products from various levels of racking.
- Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment and report any maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory management and cycle counts.
- Follow all safety regulations and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Participate in team efforts to meet operational goals.
- May involve lifting of items up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Certified forklift operator with significant, verifiable experience.
- Demonstrated ability to operate various types of forklifts safely and efficiently.
- Understanding of warehouse safety standards and practices.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and instructions.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and operate machinery for extended periods.
- Commitment to following all safety rules and wearing required PPE.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
