Kansas City, Missouri, is looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our growing logistics team. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth flow of goods within our distribution center. You will be responsible for operating forklifts and other material handling equipment to move, stage, and store inventory efficiently. The ideal candidate possesses a strong safety record and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts to transport materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring goods are secured and undamaged.
- Place and retrieve inventory from racking systems, maintaining organization.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections of forklift equipment and report any issues.
- Adhere to all safety procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE and operating within designated zones.
- Assist with inventory cycle counts and accuracy checks.
- Follow loading and unloading procedures to prevent damage and ensure efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse staff to coordinate material movement and optimize workflow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Support overall logistics operations through diligent work and attention to safety.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Forklift Operator.
- Valid forklift certification is required.
- Ability to perform physical duties, including Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse safety standards and best practices.
- Proficiency in operating various types of forklifts.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable and committed to safety.
- Familiarity with logistics operations and inventory control.
