We are seeking a reliable and physically capable Material Handler for our Grand Rapids, Michigan distribution center. This role is fundamental to our daily operations, involving the movement of goods throughout the warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping materials, ensuring efficiency and accuracy. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of warehouse workflows, a commitment to safety , and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Load and unload materials from trucks and containers.
- Transport materials within the warehouse using hand trucks, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Pick and pack orders according to specific instructions.
- Stage finished orders for shipment.
- Receive incoming goods, verify quantities, and check for damage.
- Store materials in designated locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of PPE .
- Participate in inventory cycle counts and assist with stocktaking.
- Operate various warehouse equipment as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, bending, and significant Lifting (up to 60 lbs).
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and hand trucks.
- Understanding of warehouse operations and basic logistics principles.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE .
- Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.
