Our Jacksonville, Florida facility is seeking a skilled Forklift Operator to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of goods within our warehouse. This role is crucial for handling, moving, and organizing inventory, as well as loading and unloading trucks. The ideal candidate will possess excellent operating skills, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively as part of our logistics team. You will be responsible for operating various types of forklifts and maintaining equipment in good working order. Accuracy and a proactive approach to safety are paramount.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach) safely and proficiently to move materials throughout the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and other vehicles with efficiency and care.
- Perform pre-operation checks on forklifts and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Assist with inventory management, including cycle counts and stock put-away.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring clear pathways.
- Work closely with other warehouse staff and logistics personnel to coordinate activities.
- Meet productivity standards and contribute to the overall efficiency of the warehouse operations.
- Identify and report potential safety hazards or operational improvements.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures related to warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience operating forklifts; certification is a strong plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting of up to 50 lbs.
- Solid understanding of warehouse logistics and inventory control.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to guidelines.
- Good physical condition and manual dexterity.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to wear and maintain PPE.
