We are looking for a skilled and safety-conscious Material Handler to join our logistics team in Huntsville, Alabama. As a Material Handler, you will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement of materials within our distribution center. This includes operating forklifts and other heavy equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and organizing inventory. Your role is crucial in ensuring the smooth flow of goods, supporting production, and preparing items for shipping. You will work in a dynamic environment that requires a strong understanding of warehouse operations and a commitment to adhering to strict safety protocols. Your expertise will contribute directly to the productivity and success of our logistics operations. We prioritize a safe and efficient work environment for all our employees.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment.
- Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods to designated areas within the warehouse.
- Organize and arrange inventory in storage locations to optimize space and accessibility.
- Stage materials for production, picking, and shipping processes.
- Perform routine inspections of equipment and report any issues promptly.
- Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and discrepancies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Must possess the ability to handle lifting of materials weighing up to 65 pounds.
Proven experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role is required. Valid forklift certification is highly preferred. Understanding of warehouse safety standards and logistics operations. Ability to operate various types of material handling equipment. Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
