We are actively seeking organized and detail-oriented Shipping Clerks to join our busy distribution center in Houston, Texas! In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring that all outgoing shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents, and maintaining shipping records. This position is critical to our logistics operations, ensuring timely delivery and customer satisfaction. A strong focus on safety, including the correct use of PPE, is essential for all team members.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare bills of lading, shipping orders, and other shipping documentation.
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track deliveries.
- Communicate with internal departments and external partners regarding shipment status.
- Maintain organized shipping logs and filing systems.
- Operate shipping equipment, such as scanners and label printers.
- Ensure all packages are properly labeled and prepared for transit.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and utilize appropriate PPE.
- May involve some lifting of packages up to 30 lbs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar administrative/warehouse role.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and standard office applications.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Understanding of logistics and shipping processes.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and the use of PPE.
