Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and efficient Shipping Clerk to join our vital operations in Washington, D.C. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth dispatch of all outbound shipments, playing a key part in our logistics network. Your responsibilities will include preparing shipping documentation, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment accuracy, and maintaining comprehensive shipping records. A strong emphasis is placed on workplace safety; all employees are required to use the designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and strictly follow all safety protocols to prevent incidents. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational abilities, a sharp eye for detail, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Experience with various shipping software and logistics procedures is highly valued.
Responsibilities:
  • Process and prepare all outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
  • Generate shipping labels and documentation for diverse carriers.
  • Verify the contents of shipments against outgoing orders.
  • Coordinate shipment pickups with freight providers.
  • Maintain precise records of all shipped items and relevant details.
  • Manage inventory of shipping supplies and communicate reorder needs.
  • Ensure full compliance with all safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE.
  • Liaise with customer service and sales teams regarding shipping status updates.
  • Support other warehouse functions as necessary to ensure operational flow.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or a related administrative role is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with shipping software and general computer applications.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to handle tasks requiring moderate Lifting (up to 40 lbs).
  • Solid understanding of warehouse safety standards and the importance of PPE.
