Our Indianapolis, Indiana location is seeking a diligent Material Handler to join our team. You will be responsible for the efficient and safe movement, storage, and handling of materials within our warehouse. This includes loading and unloading shipments, operating various types of material handling equipment, and ensuring that inventory is accurately managed. Your role is critical to the smooth operation of our entire logistics chain. The successful candidate will be highly organized, safety-conscious, and able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment. - Load and unload materials from incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and proficiently.
- Transport materials between different areas of the warehouse, including staging, storage, and shipping.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and report any issues or required maintenance.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and records, updating systems as necessary.
- Assist with cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, organized, and free of hazards, following all safety regulations.
- Properly use all required PPE and promote a culture of safety.
- Support logistics team efforts to ensure efficient workflow and timely order fulfillment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or material handling role is required.
- Experience operating forklifts and other powered industrial trucks is essential.
- Certification for forklift operation is preferred.
- Ability to perform frequent Lifting of heavy objects, up to 70 lbs.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures and best practices.
- Familiarity with logistics and inventory management principles.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
