Our growing logistics operation in Chicago, Illinois, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead our team. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be instrumental in managing daily warehouse activities, ensuring operational efficiency, and maintaining high standards of safety and productivity. Your responsibilities will include supervising warehouse associates, optimizing workflows for receiving, stocking, picking, packing, and shipping, and managing inventory accuracy. You will play a key role in training and developing your team, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. A thorough understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and supply chain principles is essential. You must be adept at problem-solving and possess strong leadership capabilities. We prioritize safety above all else; therefore, strict adherence to all safety protocols, including the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and effective lifting techniques, is mandatory. Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and coordinating all daily warehouse operations.
- Leading, mentoring, and managing a team of warehouse staff.
- Ensuring efficient and accurate receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping processes.
- Implementing and enforcing company policies and safety procedures, including PPE requirements.
- Monitoring team performance and providing regular feedback.
- Maintaining optimal inventory levels and accuracy.
- Driving continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse.
- Ensuring a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Managing operational budgets and controlling costs.
- Resolving operational issues and employee conflicts promptly.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business Administration is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in warehouse supervision or management.
- Proven experience in logistics and supply chain operations.
- Strong knowledge of WMS and other warehouse technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team and drive performance.
- Commitment to safety and understanding of relevant regulations.
- Experience with PPE and ensuring its proper use.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
