Join our team in Detroit, Michigan, as an Order Picker. This crucial role involves accurately selecting and preparing customer orders for shipment from our warehouse. You will be responsible for navigating the warehouse efficiently, locating items based on pick lists, and ensuring that the correct quantities and products are gathered. Accuracy and speed are essential for success in this position, contributing directly to our logistics efficiency and customer satisfaction. You will utilize handheld scanners and other technology to track inventory movement and order status. A strong understanding of warehouse layout and product locations is beneficial. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, free from hazards, is paramount. This position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to adhering to all Safety guidelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from warehouse shelves according to order specifications.
- Use handheld scanners or other devices to record picked items and update inventory.
- Verify product codes and quantities before placing items in staging areas.
- Maintain organized and efficient picking routes.
- Assist with restocking shelves and maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Operate pallet jacks or other equipment as needed.
- Ensure the work area is clean, organized, and safe.
- Follow all Safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Report any picking errors or inventory discrepancies.
- Must be able to perform frequent Lifting of products up to 40 lbs.
Qualifications:
Previous experience as an Order Picker or in a similar warehouse role is preferred. Ability to read and understand pick lists and product labels. Basic math skills for quantity verification. Comfortable using handheld scanners and technology. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Must be able to perform tasks requiring frequent Lifting and standing. A strong commitment to workplace Safety is essential. This is a key role within our logistics network.
