Seeking an experienced Shipping & Receiving Associate for our bustling facility in New York City, New York. This role is central to our logistics operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of all inbound and outbound shipments. You will be responsible for managing the flow of goods, maintaining accurate inventory records, and ensuring that all packages are handled with care and efficiency. This position demands a high level of organization, attention to detail, and a commitment to workplace Safety. You will interact with carriers, warehouse staff, and potentially customers, making clear communication essential. Operating forklifts and other material handling equipment safely is a key aspect of this role. Maintaining a clean and secure receiving and shipping area is also a primary responsibility. Key Responsibilities:
- Receive, inspect, and document all incoming shipments.
- Verify incoming goods against purchase orders.
- Prepare outgoing shipments, including labeling, packing, and staging.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for timely pickups and deliveries.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through diligent data entry.
- Ensure the shipping and receiving areas are clean, organized, and secure.
- Adhere to all Safety protocols and use required PPE.
- Assist with warehouse organization and layout as needed.
- Must be capable of frequent and significant Lifting (up to 50 lbs).
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a Shipping & Receiving Associate or similar role. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and logistics software. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to operate forklifts and other equipment safely (certification required). Strong commitment to Safety and awareness of potential hazards. Must be able to handle regular Lifting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
