We are hiring a detail-oriented Picker/Packer for our busy distribution center in Richmond, Virginia. In this critical role, you will be responsible for accurately selecting items from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders and then meticulously packaging them for shipment. Your efficiency and accuracy directly impact customer satisfaction and the overall success of our logistics operations. The ideal candidate possesses excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the physical capability to perform the tasks required, including significant lifting. You will work as part of a team to ensure orders are processed quickly and correctly, maintaining a high level of productivity. Safety is a top priority; therefore, strict adherence to all safety guidelines and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is mandatory. This is a dynamic role with opportunities for growth within our company.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick items from inventory shelves using a pick list or scanner.
- Verify product codes and quantities to ensure order accuracy.
- Pack items securely and efficiently, selecting appropriate packaging materials.
- Label packages for shipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including the correct use of PPE.
- Meet established productivity and quality standards.
- Participate in warehouse upkeep and organization.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience as a picker/packer or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and perform frequent lifting of items up to 40 pounds.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in order fulfillment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Understanding of warehouse safety procedures and the importance of PPE.
