Fabrication Engineer – Role Overview The role of a fabrication engineer requires the ability to undertake numerous tasks to support the cabinet operation.
Core Responsibilities
Spare parts control to support present and new customers
Night blind fitting
Evaporator fitting for both manufacturers and bespoke units
Full store removal
Case moves as per programme of works
Case refurbishment
LED light works
End wall supply and fitting
Trim heater installation
Fan replacements
Bumper replenishment
Door handles installation
Temporary cabinet installation
Door seal replacement
Glazing installation
Light diffuser and clip installation
Manufacture and fitting of bespoke replacement panels and parts
Waste management
Cabinet hire support
Energy works
Cabinet installation as per programme of works
Compliance & Safety Responsibilities
Ensure that all relevant company and legislative policies and best practices are adhered to and maintained at all times
Inform the relevant manager of non‑conformances and ensure corrective action is taken
Carry out site‑specific risk assessments to ensure all safety procedures are in place prior to works (monthly reports to the branch)
Near‑miss reporting and accident logging, reporting to the branch QSHE co‑ordinator as required
Ensure PPE is fit for purpose, worn at all times, and any new PPE funded through the branch
Maintain up‑to‑date PAT testing of electrical equipment; coordinate renewal with the branch QSHE co‑ordinator
Carry out van inspection at least twice a year as scheduled by the branch QSHE co‑ordinator
Calibrate gauges and equipment, keep certificates current and report any out‑of‑calibration tooling to the branch co‑ordinator
Keep all integral standard risk assessments and task procedures in a file in the van, with copies of all training certificates
Maintain copies of all pressure test regulations and customer‑specific pressure test details; issue pressure test certificates to the branch weekly
Ensure compliance with all procedures within the engineer's remit
Uphold refrigeration industry codes and standards
Comply with Integral's environmental policies and propose ideas for improving environmental efficiencies
Adhere to Group H&S procedures with due regard for business constraints and efficiency
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
In‑depth understanding of the end‑to‑end associated activities
Effective written and verbal communication with strong influencing skills, particularly at a senior level
A proven track record of success
Unyielding attention to detail that results in zero errors or defects
Flexible, proactive and able to work under own initiative with high energy, assertiveness and creativity
Excellent team‑leading skills and strong organisational capability
Commitment to collaboration and teamwork
Ability to work to tight deadlines, manage multiple projects and work under pressure
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
CSCS card an advantage (training will be provided if necessary)
Full UK driving licence
Proven history of working with a wide variety of customers
Customer focus and a desire to work in both retail and service environments
Consistently delivers a quality outcome through attention to detail
Communicates effectively and professionally with team members and customer representatives
Adapts quickly and positively to change
Willingness to work nationally, including off‑site duties
Computer literate, experienced with a variety of IT systems (both Microsoft and customer‑specific)
Support for the company stated aim of "Achieving Engineering Excellence"
