We have an opening for a meticulous Receiving Clerk at our Sacramento, California warehouse. This position is fundamental to our logistics operations, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately received, inspected, and processed. You will be responsible for unloading shipments, verifying packing slips against purchase orders, identifying discrepancies or damages, and properly documenting all incoming stock. A keen eye for detail and strong organizational skills are essential for success in this role. We prioritize a safe working environment and provide the necessary PPE.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks using pallet jacks and other equipment.
- Verify the contents of shipments against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Inspect incoming goods for any damage or defects.
- Accurately document all received items into the inventory system.
- Report any discrepancies, shortages, or damages to the appropriate personnel.
- Stage received goods for put-away or further processing.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and wear required PPE.
- Assist with other warehouse duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or related role is preferred.
- Proficiency with basic computer systems and data entry.
- Ability to operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Understanding of inventory management and logistics principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and proper use of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
