We are seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk to manage the outbound flow of goods from our facility in Huntsville, Alabama. This role is crucial for ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately, documented correctly, and dispatched in a timely manner. You will be responsible for preparing shipping documents, coordinating with carriers, verifying shipment contents against orders, and maintaining accurate shipping records. Excellent communication and organizational skills are essential for success in this position. Understanding the intricacies of outbound Logistics will be a key aspect of your daily tasks. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and process shipping documentation (e.g., bills of lading, packing slips).
- Schedule pickups with shipping carriers (e.g., FedEx, UPS, freight).
- Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments against order details.
- Inspect packages for damage before shipment.
- Maintain organized shipping logs and records.
- Communicate with internal departments and external carriers regarding shipment status.
- Operate shipping software and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all shipping regulations and company policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework or vocational training preferred.
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or a related logistics role.
- Proficiency with shipping software and common office applications.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Familiarity with DOT and hazardous materials regulations is a plus.
