We are seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist for our Grand Rapids, Michigan warehouse. This critical role involves overseeing and managing all aspects of inventory accuracy, storage, and control to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize discrepancies. The Inventory Control Specialist will implement and maintain effective inventory management systems and processes, playing a vital part in the efficiency and profitability of our logistics operations. Responsibilities:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories to verify stock accuracy.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Implement and refine inventory control procedures to improve efficiency and reduce losses.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of all inventory items.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast needs, and optimize stock levels.
- Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and operations teams to ensure seamless inventory flow.
- Oversee the handling of damaged or returned goods.
- Train other warehouse staff on inventory control best practices and Safety procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies, including Safety regulations and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or a similar role.
- Proficiency with WMS software and inventory management techniques.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to interpret data and generate reports.
- Knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations.
- Experience with Lifting and moving inventory is required.
- Strong understanding of warehouse Safety standards.
