Join our team in Virginia Beach as a skilled Forklift Operator. This position is essential for the efficient movement of materials within our warehouse. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely and effectively operating forklifts to transport goods, load and unload trucks, and assist with inventory management. A strong commitment to Safety , attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are paramount. If you have a valid forklift certification and experience in warehouse operations and Logistics , we want to hear from you. This role requires adherence to strict safety protocols and the correct use of PPE , particularly when handling heavy loads and managing the physical demands of Lifting .
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach trucks) safely and efficiently to move materials, palletized loads, and other items within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trucks, ensuring proper placement and securing of goods.
- Transport materials from receiving areas to storage, or from storage to shipping areas.
- Perform routine checks on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition; report any issues or required maintenance.
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts, ensuring accuracy.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all warehouse Safety regulations.
- Follow all company policies and procedures, including strict adherence to the use of required PPE .
- Collaborate with warehouse team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations and efficient Logistics .
- Handle tasks involving significant Lifting , often with the assistance of a forklift.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and productivity of the warehouse.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts in a warehouse environment.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in warehousing, Logistics , or a related field.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, including tasks that require significant Lifting .
- Strong understanding of forklift Safety procedures and best practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to wearing the appropriate PPE at all times.
