Our Atlanta, Georgia warehouse is looking for a diligent Shipping Clerk to join our team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the outbound flow of products. Your responsibilities will include preparing accurate shipping labels, ensuring all necessary documentation is in order, and coordinating with carriers for timely pickups. You will also be responsible for staging outgoing shipments and conducting final checks before they leave the facility. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to efficiency are essential for success in this position, contributing directly to the smooth operation of our logistics network. We emphasize a culture of safety and expect all team members to follow established protocols.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and print shipping labels and documentation accurately.
- Verify order details against shipping manifests.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments.
- Stage outgoing shipments and ensure they are loaded correctly onto delivery vehicles.
- Conduct final quality checks of packages before dispatch.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update the system accordingly.
- Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and safe.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and the proper use of required PPE.
- Communicate with warehouse staff and other departments regarding shipping status.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using shipping software and computer systems.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure accuracy in labeling and documentation.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally and stand for extended periods.
- Understanding of shipping procedures and logistics best practices.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
