We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our reputable dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional patient care, perform thorough dental cleanings, and assist in maintaining a clean and safe clinical environment. This role offers an opportunity to work with a compassionate team committed to improving patients' oral health through comprehensive care and education. Experience with EMR systems, dental terminology, and infection control protocols is essential. Experience with Eaglesoft is a benefit, but not a requirement. Experience with four-handed dentistry, and medical imaging will be considered a strong asset. The position involves working in a fast-paced environment where professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills are paramount. The position is for two workdays a week, up to 18 hours, with increased days and hours a possibility in the future, if the need arises.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform dental prophylaxis, including cleaning teeth and removing plaque and tartar using ultrasonic scalers and hand instruments and application of topical fluoride.
* Conduct patient assessments by recording vital signs and reviewing medical histories to ensure safe treatment planning
* Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options tailored to individual needs
* Maintain accurate documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations using EMR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix
* Ensure infection control protocols are strictly followed through aseptic techniques and proper sterilization of instruments
* Take and develop medical imaging as needed for diagnostic purposes
* Review documentation for accuracy and completeness before finalizing patient charts
* Collaborate with the dental team to ensure smooth clinic operations and high-quality patient care
*Requirements*
* Valid Dental Hygienist license in accordance with North Carolina regulations
* Associates or Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene
* Proven experience working in dental clinics or dental offices is preferred, but new grads also welcome.
* Proficiency in EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix; familiarity with medical coding is a plus
* Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, infection control procedures, and medical records management
* Ability to perform four-handed dentistry efficiently while maintaining patient comfort
* Excellent patient care skills with the ability to assess patient needs effectively
* Knowledge of HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality and privacy of patient information
* Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while demonstrating professionalism and compassion
* Basic understanding of medical imaging techniques and vital signs monitoring

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
