Responsibilities
Day-to-day operational management of sub-categories, related suppliers, and ERP systems
Deliver cost reduction and sustainability projects with support from the category team
Conduct market research on product trends, innovation, sustainability, pricing and legislative requirements
Help mitigate supply risks and drive continuous improvement
Run small tenders or medium tenders with support from the Category team
Support sourcing of leverage and non-critical supplies
Ongoing analysis of category areas
Part and supplier creation process
Nav price list maintenance
Negotiate terms with smaller suppliers and implement contracts in line with policy and processes (typically up to £1.5m annual spend) with support from line manager
Assess new suppliers in line with processes to provide guidance for supplier approval
Conduct supplier analysis to support various projects, including acquisitions
Requirements
Skills in the Google suite of applications and Microsoft Office packages
Studying CIPS
Years and type of Skills / Experience required: 2-4
Good basic procurement knowledge
Proven relationship building abilities
Strong analytical ability and problem solving skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
Good influencing and persuasion skills
