Summary: Provides computerized operational functions of the MWRA's Wastewater/Water metering system (including collection, storage and analysis of flow data) to ensure accurate and reliable community wastewater/water flow rate basis data. Also, produces flow data reports for wastewater/water meter data users. Location: Chelsea, MA Salary: $65,965.78 - $97,017.13 Annually $1,268.57 - $1,865.71 Weekly Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm Key Responsibilities Collects, stores, and analyzes flow data for the MWRA's wastewater/water metering system. Works with meter maintenance crews in the troubleshooting, repair and calibration of wastewater/water metering equipment. Programs computers, laptops, and other equipment utilizing specialized metering software to enable electronic collection and retrieval of wastewater/water flow data. Performs computerized diagnostic and statistical functions using wastewater/water metering system software, makes assessments regarding meter maintenance needs and coordinates scheduling of meter maintenance using the MWRA's asset management software package. Maintains wastewater/water meter databases, activity journal and assists in the preparation of meter data analyses and report preparation. Participates in the development of new systems as needed to enhance wastewater/water flow data management capabilities. Performs related duties as required. Required Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in any technical or analytical field such as math, business, accounting or management required; and At least one (1) years of experience performing data or statistical analyses using spreadsheet, database, CMM or other computer software applications; or Any equivalent combination of education and experience. Eligible for telework up to 50% of the work week after initial waiting period. Knowledge and Abilities Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills. Ability to work with minimal supervision. Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions. Ability to manage, query and analyze data in spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel. Relational database/SQL knowledge preferred. Experience with SQL and one object-oriented computer language (R, Python, Visual Basic, etc.) preferred. Tools and Equipment Used Office machines as normally associated, with the use of telephone, personal computer including word processing and other software, copy and fax machine. While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in various field settings and in an office environment. The noise level in the field setting is moderately loud and the office setting is moderately quiet.
