Join our bustling Virginia Beach, Virginia warehouse as a skilled Forklift Operator! This role is central to our efficient logistics and material handling processes. You will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and effectively to move, load, unload, and stack a variety of materials. A strong commitment to safety, accuracy, and productivity is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to transport materials within the warehouse, including loading and unloading trucks and containers.
- Safely stack and organize products in designated storage areas.
- Conduct pre-operation checks and routine maintenance on forklifts, reporting any issues promptly.
- Assist with picking, packing, and staging orders as required.
- Participate in inventory control activities, such as cycle counting and stock verification.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment, adhering to all safety regulations.
- Ensure all loads are secured properly before movement.
- Follow strict guidelines for the correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Collaborate with warehouse team members to achieve operational efficiency and meet deadlines.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents immediately to supervision.
Valid forklift certification and a minimum of 3 years of verifiable forklift operating experience are mandatory. Experience in a warehouse or distribution center environment is essential. Must be capable of frequent lifting up to 50 pounds. A thorough understanding of logistics and supply chain operations is beneficial. Excellent knowledge of forklift safety procedures and best practices is required. Must possess strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy. Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment. Basic computer proficiency for inventory tracking is a plus. Reliability, punctuality, and effective teamwork skills are crucial. Adherence to all PPE requirements is non-negotiable.
