Avera Therapy-Avera Sports Institute-Sioux Falls Work Shift: Day Shift (United States of America) This is a 1-year Orthopedic Physical Therapy Residency position located in Sioux Falls, SD at the Avera Human Performance Center.  We are seeking current clinicians or new-graduates looking to accelerate expertise in manual therapy, orthopedics, and clinical reasoning.  Avera Health and Evidence in Motion have partnered to provide this residency experience which is accredited by the American Board of Physical Therapy Residency and Fellowship Education (ABPTRFE).  Clinical mentors in the program are Orthopedic Clinical Specialists (OCS) and/or Fellows of the American Academy of Orthopedic and Manual Physical Therapists (FAAOMPT).  Website:  health-care-professionals/orthopedic-physical-therapy-residency-program/ Facebook Group Page:  groups/averatherapy Deadline to submit applications is 5pm on Friday, February 13, 2026.  Be part of a multidisciplinary team built with compassion and the goal of Moving Health Forward for you and our patients. Responsible for the daily coordination and delivery of physical therapy services implementing specific treatment program for individual patients and patient groups according to the principles and practices of physical therapy and established objectives of the department. Participates under the supervision of the Residency Program Coordinator and the assigned Residency Program Mentor(s). Evaluates assigned patients, gathering data from a variety of sources such as patient records, interviews, observation and team members. Uses selected activities and/or tasks to promote and maintain health, and to achieve treatment goals, establish and modify intervention and strategies for patients’ treatment program based on ongoing evaluation. Provides direct therapy services to patients using various functional settings and strategies, plans therapy within the patient’s individual physical, emotional and intellectual capabilities as indicated and coordinated with the rehabilitation, medical, and nursing care plans. Communicates effectively with the patient, family, physician, and other disciplinary team members regarding the patient’s status, progress and needs. Establishes rapport and work cooperatively with interdisciplinary team members (including family/physician) throughout the patient’s intervention program. Evaluates and monitors clinical internship with students affiliating in various universities/colleges. Completes assigned Outpatient Physical Therapy Residency Program requirements and objectives.
