About the role At Babcock, we’re working to create a safe and secure world, together. As a Quality Assurance Engineer at our Devonport Royal Dockyard site, you’ll support upgrades, maintenance, and modifications to the facilities and assets that enable the Royal Navy to operate effectively. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring our platforms and infrastructure meet the highest standards of safety, reliability, and performance.
Key responsibilities
Providing guidance and support to project stakeholders on quality planning, delivery, and handover.
Supporting the development and review of Quality Management Plans (QMPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
Overseeing the implementation of quality requirements across projects and supply chains.
Ensuring Lifetime Quality Records (LTQRs) demonstrate compliance with design intent.
Assisting Senior Quality Assurance Engineers with project lifecycle assurance activities.
Essential experience
Experience in quality assurance and control within an engineering sector, including supply chain functions.
Knowledge of change management, document control, and improvement initiatives.
Understanding of national and international regulatory obligations related to quality management.
Knowledge and experience of ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System requirements.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in engineering or quality discipline.

Completed a recognised apprenticeship in an engineering field.
Security clearance The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance. Positions may be subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions which could affect eligibility based on place of birth, nationality, citizenship, or residency.
