We are looking for a meticulous and organized Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team in Kansas City, Missouri. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for incoming goods, ensuring all deliveries are accurately received, inspected, and processed. Your attention to detail is crucial for verifying quantities against purchase orders, checking for damages, and properly documenting all incoming inventory. This position is fundamental to maintaining accurate stock levels and ensuring the smooth operation of our logistics department. You will work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve any discrepancies promptly. A strong understanding of warehouse procedures and the importance of efficient receiving practices will contribute to your success. We are dedicated to providing a safe work environment, and strict adherence to safety protocols, including the mandatory use of PPE, is expected. This role may involve lifting and moving goods, requiring physical capability and careful handling. Responsibilities:
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders and delivery manifests.
- Inspect goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Accurately record received inventory into the warehouse management system.
- Tag and label received items appropriately.
- Organize and stage received goods for efficient put-away.
- Communicate any receiving issues or discrepancies to management promptly.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies, including the use of PPE.
- Maintain a clean and organized receiving area.
- Assist with inventory counts and stock checks as needed.
- Support the overall efficiency of warehouse logistics.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in receiving, inventory, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic computer skills for data entry into the WMS.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 40 lbs.
- Familiarity with warehouse safety standards and the use of PPE.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
