We are hiring enthusiastic Picker/Packers for our large distribution center in Dallas, Texas. This position is crucial for ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of customer orders. As a Picker/Packer, you will be responsible for accurately retrieving items from warehouse storage and then securely packaging them for shipment. Success in this role demands a high level of detail, efficiency, and a strong commitment to workplace safety. You will be an essential part of our logistics network, working collaboratively to meet operational goals.
Responsibilities:
- Accurately identify and retrieve products from warehouse shelves based on order specifications.
- Inspect items for any defects or damage prior to packing.
- Package products carefully and securely using appropriate materials to prevent damage during transit.
- Apply correct shipping labels and any other required documentation.
- Operate equipment such as pallet jacks and scanning devices efficiently and safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, contributing to overall warehouse efficiency.
- Adhere to all company safety policies, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Participate in inventory counts and assist with stock management as needed.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to achieve daily picking and packing targets within the logistics framework.
- Report any issues related to inventory, equipment, or safety concerns promptly.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a picking and packing role or warehouse environment is advantageous.
- Ability to perform physical tasks including standing for extended periods, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure order accuracy.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and basic logistics principles.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet productivity goals.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Commitment to following safety procedures and wearing required PPE.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including potential overtime.
