We are looking for a diligent Receiving Clerk to join our warehouse team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This crucial role involves the accurate and efficient handling of incoming shipments. You will be responsible for unloading delivery trucks, verifying incoming goods against purchase orders, inspecting items for damage, and accurately entering received data into our inventory system. A strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining organized receiving processes are essential for success. This position is key to ensuring our logistics operations run smoothly by accurately documenting all inbound inventory.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
- Verify the quantity and quality of received goods against shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Inspect incoming products for any damage or defects and report any issues.
- Accurately record received items into the inventory management system.
- Label and stage received goods for put-away into appropriate warehouse locations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Communicate with vendors, carriers, and internal departments regarding shipments.
- Adhere to all company safety regulations, including wearing appropriate PPE and practicing safe lifting procedures.
- Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts as needed.
- Follow established logistics procedures for all receiving activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role is preferred.
- Experience operating forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Proficiency with computers and inventory management software.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Strong understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
