We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Associate to join our dynamic logistics team in Portland, Oregon. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring the accurate and efficient movement of goods in and out of our facility. You will be responsible for receiving incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders, and preparing outgoing shipments. This includes inspecting goods for damage, documenting discrepancies, and operating material handling equipment as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse procedures, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position requires physical stamina and meticulous attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming shipments, verifying contents against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Inspect goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues immediately.
- Accurately document all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Organize and store received inventory in designated areas.
- Pick, pack, and prepare outgoing orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and proper packaging.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist with inventory counts and cycle counts as required.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding shipping and receiving status.
The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Experience in a warehouse or logistics setting is highly preferred. This role involves significant physical activity, including frequent lifting and standing.
