You will be responsible for verifying incoming goods, preparing outgoing shipments, and maintaining organized dock areas. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, and all employees must strictly adhere to safety regulations, including the correct use of PPE. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
- Verify shipping documents against received goods and process them in the system.
- Prepare, label, and stage outgoing shipments according to destination and carrier requirements.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment safely to move materials.
- Maintain clean and orderly shipping and receiving areas, ensuring clear access to docks.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, including proper lifting techniques and the mandatory use of PPE.
- Manage inventory of shipping supplies and communicate replenishment needs.
- Coordinate with transportation providers to schedule pickups and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities.
- Contribute to overall warehouse efficiency and logistics by ensuring timely and accurate processing of goods.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a similar warehouse role is required.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 75 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with shipping documentation and logistics procedures.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all safety guidelines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
