Overview As a Senior Finance Manager EPM Data Design Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of finance data architecture across Johnson & Johnson’s global enterprise. This position demands a visionary leader who can align talent and resources to deliver innovative, scalable, and sustainable data solutions that empower financial planning, management reporting, and analytics.
Strategic Responsibilities
Drive Enterprise Strategy – Lead the finance data design team with clear focus on strategic objectives, ensuring data models and solutions are technically sound and aligned with the broader business vision and future growth.
Talent Alignment – Cultivate and develop a high‑performing team of business data architects, engineers, and analysts, prioritizing talent development to support the company’s finance digitalization journey.
Cross‑Functional Leadership – Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and cross‑functional partners and champion the adoption of next‑generation technology solutions.
Data Design Excellence
Detail‑Oriented Assessment – Oversee the creation and maintenance of business data models for all Anaplan models covering Commercial, IBP, Supply Chain and Enterprise Planning & Analytics; lead data fit‑gap evaluations for each deployment.
Quality and Governance – Develop and memorialize Data Design Documents (DDD); collaborate with Data Governance teams to enforce best practices and maintain high standards of data quality.
Run State Support – Oversee the transition of deployed models to run‑state organizations with full knowledge transfers and provide ongoing support for continuous improvement initiatives.
Major Responsibilities
Lead a team of 10 business data architects, engineers, and analysts, including consultants, to design and maintain business data models for a multi‑year enterprise transformation program.
Conduct data fit‑gap evaluations for each deployment, collaborating with technical partners to identify and profile data sources.
Provide strategic guidance across all SigniFi workstreams (including Global Process Owners, Business Product Owners, and Technical Product Owners) to ensure cohesive, sustainable, and scalable solution designs.
Develop and maintain Data Design Documents (DDD) to memorialize key decisions and serve as reference materials for run‑state teams.
Coordinate with the Data Validation team to drive data quality and analysis throughout project phases.
Collaborate with the Finance Data Governance team to oversee SigniFi CIM design in the Finance Data Hub Platform.
Ensure smooth transition of new data processes to run‑state owners, providing knowledge transfer and ongoing support post‑deployment.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or IT (or related field) is required.
8+ years’ experience, including at least 5 years in relational database management, data model, or data warehouse development.
Strong SQL skills; experience with Tableau, Alteryx, SAP Finance, BW, or MDM.
Experience crafting sophisticated technology solutions to support a large, complex business landscape.
Experience supervising direct reports to develop a talent pipeline of data, system, and process expertise.
Extensive experience with financial planning tools and technology.
Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non‑technical stakeholders.
Experience working in a matrixed, multi‑team delivery model.
Deep knowledge of organizational systems and interdependencies needed to align the organization to the FS&T agenda.
Excellent relationship‑building skills with senior stakeholders to support technology adoption.
Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to thrive in ambiguous situations.
Team‑oriented demeanor and collaborative mindset.
Experience enforcing strong governance and best practices in a team environment.
Commitment to continuous integration, improvement, and automation for stable deliverables.
Strong project management skills or experience leading implementations (preferred).
Availability for up to 25% domestic or international travel.
