Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and motivated Lead Dental Assistant (DA) to join our organization. This role combines clinical chair-side assisting with administrative responsibilities to support efficient day-to-day operations. The Lead DA will work closely with the dentist(s), dental team, and office manager to ensure high-quality patient care, smooth workflow, and well-maintained equipment and supplies.

Requirements:

Task, Responsibilities & Competencies:

Includes but are not limited to :


Clinical Duties (up to 4 days/week, as needed)

· Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during dental procedures.

· Prepare and set up operatories and sterilize instruments according to OSHA and infection control standards.

· Take and process dental radiographs.

· Ensure patient comfort and provide post-operative instructions.

· Follow proper infection control protocols and maintain a safe, compliant workplace environment

· Support dental team members as needed to maintain patient flow.

· Support the clinical operations of the mobile dental units as needed


Administrative Duties 

· Manage weekly equipment logs and monitor equipment performance.

· Coordinate preventive maintenance and minor upkeep of dental equipment.

· Assist with scheduling equipment service and repairs as needed.

· Support reporting and documentation requirements for regulatory compliance with OSHA, TJC, CDC etc.

· Processes and submits insurance prior authorizations promptly and accurately

· Coordinates and tracks patient referrals to specialists; follow up to ensure completion.

· Assists with scheduling and rescheduling patients.

· Oversees dental supply and inventory management, and vendor communications.

· Utilize dental software and computer systems for recordkeeping, tracking, and ordering 

· Participates in staff meetings, training sessions and quality improvement

· Supports the office manager in community outreach coordination and other duties.


Required:  

· Certified or Registered Dental Assistant (state requirements apply).

· Minimum 2 years of experience as a Dental Assistant; leadership experience preferred.

· Strong knowledge of infection control, OSHA, and HIPAA standards.

· Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

· Strong communication and leadership skills to support and guide the dental team.

· Proficiency in dental software and computer knowledge a plus.

Work Schedule:

· Up to 4 clinical days assisting chair-side as needed.

· Dedicated administrative time as agreed upon, based on clinic needs and schedule.


Compensation details: Hourly Wage
