What Is the Apprenticeship? As a Junior Production Coordinator apprentice you will support our production managers and coordinators, learning the foundations of production management across TV, audio, online, events and digital platforms. You will develop industry‑recognised skills while working on live programmes such as The One Show and Women’s Hour.
Key Responsibilities
Support scheduling, budgeting and risk assessment of shoots, ensuring value for money, safety and efficient use of resources.
Assist in sourcing production kit, crew and locations, and onboard freelancers and independent production companies.
Contribute to post‑production processes, including delivery paperwork, content compliance and licensing.
Attend shoots and shadow key personnel to understand digital‑first production processes and the subsequent publishing workflow.
Work as part of a vibrant, ideas‑driven creative production team.
On successful completion of your apprenticeship you may apply for roles such as Production Management Assistant, Production Secretary or Production Coordinator, based on experience earned during the programme.

This scheme is aimed at non‑graduates. If you hold a degree, we recommend applying for other positions within the BBC or exploring other apprenticeship schemes.
Eligibility Criteria To be eligible for an apprenticeship at the BBC you must:
Be 18 years old or over by the time the apprenticeship begins in September 2026.
Have lived in the UK continuously for the last 3 years prior to the start of the apprenticeship.
Be legally eligible to work full‑time in the UK for the entire duration of the apprenticeship.
Not be currently enrolled in another apprenticeship programme.
For candidates under 19 years old at the start of the apprenticeship, have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent) or be able to achieve this by the end of the programme.
Additional requirements:
Pass a functional skills assessment if required.
Pass an employment screening process, including reference checks, eligibility to work checks, and, where applicable, safeguarding and media checks.
