£40,000 - £45,000
Our client, based in Newark, is one of the world's top manufacturers in their field. Due to their sustained growth, our client is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their market-leading team.
The Role
Design, develop, and test electro‑mechanical products.
Prepare professional product specifications, technical, and test reports.
Conduct fault analysis and technical investigations.
Supervise and support junior Engineers.
Implement changes to hardware designs to address cost, obsolescence, etc.
Assist production teams with improvements and issues.
Conduct verification activities, including environmental testing.
Maintain professionalism and develop continuously.
Produce detailed drawings to BS 8888 and manage drawing alterations.
Design 3D models using SolidWorks.
Ensure quality standards through design reviews/checking.
The Candidate
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in industrial design, mechanical engineering, or similar.
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a mechanical design engineer.
Task and issue management expertise.
Proficient with SolidWorks.
Excellent time‑management and multi‑project leadership.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including injection‑moulding and CNC milling.
Customer and supplier interfacing experience.
Skills in program management, analysis, and documentation organisation.
Independent project completion with minimal supervision.
SolidWorks PDM and MRP experience.
Familiarity with IEC/MIL/DO‑160 standards.
