Job Description Working in our IT Networks team as part of the wider Infrastructure team, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting, managing and maintaining all aspects of the global network infrastructure, ensuring the best possible uptime and availability to support the business’ customers, goals and growth.
Other responsibilities include:
Plan, build, and deliver new network capabilities and deployments from standards and design documents to meet the needs of the business.
Maintaining network security through proper configuration of firewalls, wireless access points and VPN.
Contributing to HLD/LLD documents for the network roadmap.
Maintaining multi-site network operations to support internal applications, operating systems including regular maintenance with both private and public facilities.
Creating and maintaining documentation and network diagrams.
Full lifecycle management of network devices as well as support and development of network management and monitoring systems.
Performing regular preventative maintenance tasks such as capacity management and software updates.
What We’re Looking For In this role, you’ll need to interact and engage with other teams and explain technical issues to non‑technical staff. As such, we’re looking for someone with excellent communication and interpersonal skills who can develop and maintain productive working relationships. You’ll also have good organisational skills, the ability to handle multiple projects and work items and a keen attention to detail. If you hold any certifications, this would be a bonus.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Strong experience of monitoring and maintaining enterprise network architectures (LAN, WAN, WiFi and Data Centre).
Strong technical experience managing, supporting and optimising:
Enterprise and data centre routing and switching including VLANs, STP, GBP and OSPF.
Network security architectures firewalls, VPN and IDS/IPS.
Experience working with WAN providers and fibre network infrastructure, including DIA, SDWAN, wavelength and dark fibre circuits.
Understanding of VPN technologies including security and cryptographic standards.
Experience of data centre power, cooling and cabling standards, including ethernet and fibre optic networks.
Experience of managing and maintaining network monitoring systems.
Network access control systems and protocols, such as AAA, RADIUS, 802.1x.
DHCP, DNS and IPAM and SSL/PKI technologies.
Exposure to cloud networking (integration with, and design of).
Excellent customer service and diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
Ideally, you’ll also have
Systems administration experience within a mixed Windows, Linux physical and virtual environment, including IP address schemes, DHCP, DNS.
Good understanding of technology solutions beyond networking.
Exposure to a range of different networking vendors and solutions.
AWS or other Cloud network experience.
Experience in scripting, automation or orchestration deployment tools.
Understanding of information security principals, e.g. ISO 27001.
As well as technical skills, you should be able to foster strong working relationships within the team and be a motivated self‑starter with a positive and customer‑focused attitude.
