Job Description
About the Role We are looking for a motivated individual with a strong interest in physical security to join us as an Embedded Physical Security Operations Centre (PSOC) Analyst for a global financial sector client. Reporting to the embedded manager, you will join a 24 / 7 team of security specialists working around the globe providing access control, CCTV monitoring, incident response, threat monitoring, and travel security support in a state‑of‑the‑art, purpose‑built PSOC in the heart of London’s financial district.
As a PSOC Analyst, you will be primarily responsible for physical security monitoring and, with training, disseminating mass communications concerning global events that hold the potential to impact the well‑being of company personnel and valuable assets.
You will act as a central point for escalation, coordination, and communication during times of crisis, and acting as a security concierge, you will engage with various business functions, ensuring a holistic approach to addressing their needs, expectations, and concerns. A third of the role will involve strategic and tactical intelligence analysis and reporting, such as producing travel security assessments and horizon scanning.
This role would require you to work 6 days on and 4 days off in the client’s London office, rotating between day shifts (7 : 00 am – 3 : 00 pm), (3 : 00 pm – 11 : 00 pm) and night shifts (11 : 00 pm – 7 : 00 am). If working bank holidays, you will get days back in liue.
The PSOC operates 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year. Therefore, you must be flexible to work on weekends and public holidays as required by the shift rota.
Responsibilities
Provide continuous 24 / 7 monitoring and management of security operations, including CCTV feeds, access control and door alarms
Monitor clients’ business travellers using global tracking tools to support the travel security program
Provide security assistance, answer questions, and serve as the security concierge for employees, visitors and vendors
Conduct routine patrols of the building and assist with escorting visitors as needed
Assist with the creation of temporary and permanent badges for employees, visitors, and contractors and ensure those badges have the appropriate accesses to our space
Respond to any calls from staff needing medical assistance
Assist first responders, and medical and law enforcement personnel as necessary
Ensure that staff, assets, and access points are secured on a regular basis, reporting any hazardous conditions to security management
Follow the client’s escalation procedures to notify security management of any critical incidents, unsafe conditions, or technical failures
Create accurate communication logs by reporting incidents in dedicated case management databases
Utilise geographic information systems to ascertain potential risk and incidents that occur in the vicinity of the client’s assets
Aid investigations by utilising data and information available in sensitive security databases
Facilitate the dissemination of information to mobilise the necessary resources to ensure that regional staff can mitigate immediate risks and incidents
Requirements
Relevant experience or interest in a physical security function, such as guarding, military service, law enforcement, private security, or a related field
Experience or interest in security policies, best practices, and procedures, with a customer service mindset
Eagerness to learn and support all aspects of PSOC operations, including following SOPs related to physical and asset security, security concierge services, securing access points and alarm response
Good communication skills, with the ability to take urgent calls from concerned stakeholders with patience and professionalism
Ability to monitor the news, social media, other information feeds and quickly determine the impact of security events and crises on business operations
Ability to interpret, organise and visualise data
Excellent attention to detail
High level of competency with MS Office tools
Must be eligible to work in the UK
Nice to have
Experience with PSOC tools, including mass notification systems (e.g. Everbridge, Vismo), security platforms (e.g. Genetec, CCURE, ProWatch) and social media monitoring (e.g. Dataminr, Navigator)
Prior military or law enforcement experience
First Aid qualification
